New Delhi, September 13, 2006 " Hyperion (Nasdaq: HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management software, today announced support for Google OneBox for Enterprise, a feature of the Google Search Appliance.

The new solution goes beyond the search integration offered by other Business Intelligence (BI) vendors by providing customers with access not only to BI-related dashboards, reports, metrics and other unstructured corporate content, but also to financial applications-business content such as the business rules, calculations, annotations and forms that enable Business Performance Management (BPM). All this information is now available through a single Google-powered, integrated search window.

One of the key differentiators of the Hyperion solution is its unique ability to develop, not just report, answers to queries. A search using conventional BI tools returns an answer to a query if that answer already exists in a report; otherwise, the search produces only a list of reports with related content and the user must sift through the material to locate information. The Google-powered Hyperion solution will create an appropriate answer by searching the relevant financial and operational data and automatically querying, calculating and presenting the information in real time.

The data can originate from a variety of relational and multidimensional sources, such as Essbase and Enterprise analytics, star schemas, SAP-BW and financial management applications.

In addition to receiving search results contained in inline answers to the queries, the user can further refine the search query to get more detailed results, a process akin to drilling down on reports or analytic dashboards. The benefits are productivity gains and actionable answers to business questions directly from the Google search result window.

"Bringing financial information together with operational data will help make enterprise customers nimbler and more responsive," said Dave Girouard, vice president and general manager of Google Enterprise. "The combination of Hyperion's deep knowledge of performance management solutions and Google's powerful and familiar search capabilities is a good example of how people can find the right information -- wherever it resides in the enterprise."

"The integration with Google OneBox for Enterprise is another example of Hyperion's leadership," said Howard Dresner, chief strategy officer at Hyperion. "Making BPM information readily available through the Google search paradigm demonstrates Hyperion's commitment to the notion of Information Democracy. The solution empowers knowledge workers with comprehensive, intuitive enterprise search capabilities and richer search results which can now be derived in real-time."

The solution is accessible through the Hyperion System 9 Workspace, providing a single point of entry to the various Hyperion System 9 modules across all structured and unstructured content. A robust security model delivers only relevant results, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of the BPM information. The support for search integration with Google OneBox for Enterprise, will be generally available late CY2006.
