In its endeavour to spread financial literacy across the nation, ICICIdirect, the Neighbourhood Financial Superstore has been organising several innovative programs to attract middle-income families.

The latest program arranged at the stores is ‘Junior Magician’. Families are encouraged to bring their children to the store where they learn magic tricks from professional magicians. While the children are at play, the parents are attended to by qualified relationship managers who carry out financial check-ups.

“At ICICIdirect, our goal is to bring about a social change in financial planning among Indian families. By organising interesting programmes at our stores, we want to demonstrate that financial planning need not be drudgery and can be fun and engaging if you get the right advice from professionals,” said Vineet Arora, Senior Vice President and Head - Product & Distribution, ICICI Securities Ltd

Junior Magician has already been organised at 6 stores across Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai and the event saw 837 families walk into the stores.

Close to 1500 children aspired to be Junior Magicians. The children not only learnt some magic tricks, but many also took home exciting gifts like passes to Shah’s Watercity in Ahmedabad; Club Mahindra gifts; discount coupons from GKB Opticians, Airtel Telecom Titan Eye + and Irony Furniture; vouchers from VLCC, Country Club, Fitness One Gym, Kaya Skin Clinic, Hathway Broadway, Cestalive, Birla Kerala Baidyashala and Tanishq

ICICIdirect plans to extend the Junior Magician across its 240 stores in India. The firm regularly organises educative programmes to empower retail investors to take informed decisions on their investments through the ICICIdirect Learning Centre. These programs include Shares simplified, F & O Simplified, Mutual Fund Primer and Insurance Intelligence.
