iGATE (NASDAQ:IGTE), the integrated Technology and Operations (ITOPS) company today announced being awarded the prestigious Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) Performance Excellence Trophy 2009 in the services category. Modeled on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (USA), the IMC RBNQA is one of India’s highest awards for Quality in the services sector.
Instituted in 1966, the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award gives special recognition to excellence in organizations. The Award has been named after the famed Indian industrialist Ramkrishna Bajaj who stressed on ethics in business, espoused business self-regulation and promoted consumer welfare. This award has created a niche for itself and is one of the most sought-after Awards in India.
The 2009 Award winners were selected by a distinguished panel of judges under the leadership of the eminent banker Mr. Deepak Parekh, non Executive Chairman of HDFC.
A team of specially trained experts, judged iGATE in seven key categories spanning leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement analysis and knowledge management; workforce focus; process management; and results.
The jury said “iGATE demonstrated refined approaches responsive to the multiple requirements of the key categories. We commend iGATE for their pursuit of quality and for demonstrating superior managerial practices”.
