IIFT in association with NASSCOM Foundation organized its 7th National IT Conclave focusing on public sector and emphasizing on the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The conclave was themed on “Powering India’s growth through Technology and Innovation” that included the sessions on ‘UID Aadhaar’; e-governance; Cloud computing and disruptive technologies. It opened with a welcome address by Mr.K.T.Chacko, Director, IIFT, followed by the keynote speech by Mr.Sundeep Nehra, Partner Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd.
On the occasion Mr.K.T.Chacko said “These conclaves not only help in germination of more innovative & productive ideas in the young minds but also inculcate the right attitude towards the changing world.” IIFT is also working on sectoral innovation in Trade & Commerce & the 12th Plan focusing on enhancing the intensity of technology contents in exports of India, he added.
As a keynote speaker Mr.Sundeep Nehra, said, “I really appreciate the effort taken by IIFT in organizing such an edifying and informative conclave”. He spoke regarding re-emerging enablers and disruptive deployment that includes Cloud Computing , cyber security etc.
Further in the event the discussion involved the concern as “How can government utilize Information Technology in a rapidly changing environment for the progress of public service? & How does this affect an average Indian citizen?”
Mr.Jaijeet Bhattacharya, Director, Hewlett Packard spoke regarding the new innovations in telecom sector and the penetration of green technology into IT sector. Mr.Gautam Kapoor, Senior Director, Deloitte enlightened students on UIDAI, NeGP & m-governance which are the recent government initiatives in collaboration with the IT Sector.
The other dignitaries like Mr.Sanjeev Gupta, Senior VP, Accenture; Ms.Rita Soni, CEO, NASSCOM; Mr.S.ParthaSarathy, Senior Director, Deloitte; Mr.Sudhir Aggarwal, Senior Director, Oracle India and Mr.Salil Punalekar, VP Cognizant Business Consulting contributed to the session and spoke regarding Cloud Computing – Opportunities, Risks and the future of information communication and Other game changing trends which can be foreseen in the field of Information Technology and Communication.
Mr.R.K Mitra, Deputy Registrar, IIFT & the veteran bureaucrat who as a moderator concluded the successful 7th National IT Conclave by vote of thanks and further interaction of students with the dignitaries.
