New Delhi today becomes the sixth Asian city to host the inaugural Asia Leadership Dialogues (ALD) 2009. Organised for the corporate movers and shakers across Asia, ALD is a prestigious series of forums to showcase corporations and their C-suite leaders in Asia. The Dialogues recognise Asia leaders – individuals and organisations that are respected by peers in corporations and government as actively engaging, developing and leading in their respective businesses fields.

ALD is organised by Platinum Circle, a private group of global and Asian corporations each with annual revenues exceeding USD100 million. The Dialogues provide a high-powered platform for business leaders in each country to speak with their peers on personal experiences, management philosophies and views on Asia’s future.

Mr Gaurav Dalmia, Board Member, Dalmia Group and Chairman, Landmark Holdings, will deliver the Asia Leader keynote speech on “Leadership in a New Asia” at the Le Meridien Hotel this morning.

In his keynote address, Mr Gaurav Dalmia said, “In this global recession, there could be opportunities amidst the crisis. It is therefore important to be versatile and having the right mental attitude to face the challenges. Success does not happen overnight. Ultimately it is hard work which will pay off”.

Mr Dalmia added, “There is a need for Asia leaders to shape the world and encourage discussions on important issues. This global economic crisis has brought the focus on Asia and Asian leaders should have a voice to shape their destinies”.

Mr Gaurav Dalmia shared his experience with over 200 top executives today.

Mr Lionel Lee, Chairman of Platinum Circle, said: “The first five ALD events were held in Hong Kong on 11 June, Bangkok on 2 July, the third in Singapore on 14 July, the fourth in Kuala Lumpur on 16 July and the fifth in Ho Chi Minh City on 21 July. The forums were met with overwhelming response. The Dialogues’ success so far reflects the desire among Asia’s corporate and public sector leaders to step up onto the world stage and play a contributory stewardship role. The ALD provides the platform for them to engage one another in issues that impact the Asia’s economic and business landscape. Platinum Circle is pleased to cater to this need with the upcoming Dialogues in other major Asian cities in the coming weeks.”

The next forum in the series will be held in Jakarta on 29 July before moving to Manila, Mumbai and Karachi over the next few weeks.

SAP is the Strategic Partner of the Asia Leadership Dialogues 2009. The world’s leading provider of business software - offering applications and services that enable companies of all sizes and in more than 25 industries to become best-run businesses – worked closely with Platinum Circle to host the Asia Leadership Dialogues with the SAP World Tour 09. This unique combination of the Asia Leadership Dialogues and the SAP World Tour 09 will help more than 2,500 leaders and executives in 10 Asian cities see their way clearly in the new reality.

Mr Lee added that the entire catalogue of 10 keynote speeches in this series of forums may be subsequently published and distributed globally, to preserve the Asia Leaders’ insights for posterity.
