EVCA (European Venture Capital Association) the world's largest VC organization partners Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) for its MasterClass for Indian Venture Capital / Private Equity industry.
European Venture Capital Association, the world's single largest VC Association, will partner Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) for its MasterClass aimed at raising domain knowledge among VC and PE firms in India. IVCA announced this MasterClass to be held in Mumbai between 25th and 26th February, 2009 as part of its talent development and knowledge sharing agenda for PE/VC professionals. Announcing the programme, Mr. Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman of IVCA said, “This is just one of the initiatives that IVCA is undertaking to bring the practices and standards of VC/PE industry in India closer to the global standards. This initiative also helps in creating a larger pool of high quality skilled fund managers. We welcome EVCA’s partnership in this programme, which is now being held in India for the second year running.”
The master class aims at educating and creating awareness in the entrepreneurial/ investor ecosystem for a better understanding of the valuation principles and provide an insight into the International Private Equity and Venture Capital Guidelines (developed by AFIC,BVCA and EVCA).Says Mr. Ranjit Shastri, Executive Director, Indian Venture Capital Association, “This is a particularly important event as we will be initiating a dialogue on the subject of industry standards with respect to disclosure of financial information by PE/VC funds to their investors. By setting such standards, the IVCA aims to promote self regulation by the PE/VC community in India.”
IVCA is spearheading the cause of bringing global and reporting valuation guidelines to India. The partnership between IVCA and the largest and the most credible venture capital association in the world, the EVCA, is yet another significant step towards aligning Indian valuation guidelines with the best across the globe.
The MasterClass will emphasize on practical examples, discussion of case studies and day to day challenges, with great attention to specificities of both venture capital and buyout. The event would also provide a platform to a wide range of interest groups varying from financial officers of private equity companies to funds of funds or service providers to engage with the leading limited partners (LP's) and general partners (GP's) on their organization's expectations in terms of "Reporting Guidelines".
