Announces the launch of its Jet to Milan contest to mark milestone

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has become the first Indian, and among the top five carriers in Asia, to add over one lakh fans on Facebook, arguably the largest and most influential social networking website in the world.

The airline will mark the crossing of this important milestone, which was achieved in less than a year, with the launch of an exciting new Jet to Milan contest with immediate effect, until December 14, 2010, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/jetairways, to celebrate the launch of its maiden service to Italy on December 5, 2010.

As part of the contest, guests must upload an image of any destination in Italy, tell us a little bit about the place in not more than 200 characters and answer three simple questions on Jet Airways’ new services to Milan.

A lucky winner will win return couple tickets, on Jet Airways’ daily, direct service to Milan from Delhi, effective December 5, 2010.*

The airline launched its Facebook community, at www.facebook.com/jetairways on January 19, 2010, with the primary objective of engaging with our guests and listening to them apart from providing guests with real-time news updates about flight schedules, new guest programs, route additions, services and special offers, to name a few.

According to Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, “Jet Airways has been a pioneer in the Indian aviation sector in terms of recognizing and harnessing the power of social media networks to better understand, communicate with and delight our stakeholders. Reaching the one lakh fan milestone in under a year on Facebook stands testimony to the success of the company’s social media initiatives in actively reaching out to and engaging a large segment of company stakeholders, who, I am confident, will make our new Jet to Milan contest a tremendous success with their eager participation.”
