The work ‘Justice, Courts and Delays’, published by Universal Law Publishing, has sought to briefly analyse the causes behind court delays and then comes up with possible solutions, which are both practical and affordable. The work covers almost the entire spectrum of law and the first two volumes released mainly deal with the civil litigative process.
Unlike other law books, this book is aimed at the common man. It delves into the steps in the legal procedures that have troubled the common man for long and suggests remedies to speed up delivery of justice to him.
Mr. Arun Mohan has carried out research over many years and has based the book on detailed interviews and discussions with people who are a part of the judicial system such as judges, lawyers, as well as the litigants (parties). It involved an in-depth study of why delays were being caused, and how the procedures were misused and the systems overloaded.
A book intended more for the typical litigant than for the lawyers and jurists, it is full of illustrations from everyday life. It is written in a language that a non-legal person having a case in court can easily follow. The set of 5,000 pages (4 volumes) is priced at Rs.500/- so that it is accessible to the public at large who will benefit from it.
