General Motors today announced the appointment of Rajeev Chaba, 43, as the Chairman and Managing Director of GM Egypt effective 1st October, 2007 after spearheading GM's growth in India for the past two years. Karl Slym, 45, will be the new President and Managing Director of GM India. |

GM Asia-Pacific Group Vice-President and President, Nick Reilly, today congratulated Slym and Chaba on their appointments and thanked Chaba for his leadership in India during an important growth phase for GM. |

Chaba assumed the role of President and Managing Director in June 2005, having been GM India's Chief Operating Office since September 2003 He joined GM India in 1995 and held roles in marketing, sales and aftersales. He worked as Marketing Director for GM Japan in 2002 and 2003 before returning to India as Chief Operating Officer. |
