L&T bags Rs 200cr Dubai deal

Mumbai, April 25, 2007: Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), India's largest technology, engineering, and construction company, has bagged a Rs. 200 crore order from Nakheel, UAE, to build a prestigious residential project in Dubai.
 
The project will be executed by ECC, L&T's Construction Division, and marks the growing presence of the Company in the thriving construction market of the Middle East.
 
The project involves construction of luxury villas and associated infrastructure facilities including a club house and children's play area at the upmarket Jumeirah Islands.
 
The entire construction of the project is scheduled to be completed in 548 days from the date of commencement and involves the construction of 31 luxury villas.
 
The scope of the project also includes building the associated infrastructure facilities consisting of 1000m of roads and services, a pedestrian overpass, club house with recreational facilities, children's play area and complete landscaping.
 
Nakheel, a leading project developer in UAE, is involved in several major property development projects with investments to the tune of US$12 billion in Dubai. Nakheel has to its credit a variety of landmark structures in Dubai.
 
This is the third project from Nakheel being awarded to L&T. The previous projects are the Middle bridges on the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah Island Development, which has already been executed, and the Mogul Gardens.
