Order valued at Rs 365.28 crore (81.3 mn USD)
Lanco Infratech Limited (LITL), one of the largest integrated infrastructure enterprises has announced that its EPC division has achieved another major milestone by winning its first international EPC order in Iraq for AKAZ Power Plant of capacity 2 x 125 MW in Al-Anbar Province.
On behalf of Lanco, the contract was signed by Mr Kishore Vaid, Sr Vice President, Business Development, LITL – EPC Division and Director General Sabih of Ministry of Electricity, in Baghdad in the presence of Sr Dy Minister HE Raad Al Haris.
While the scope of work includes Complete Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of an open cycle gas based Thermal Power plant with two (02) frame (9E) gas turbine generator sets supplied by General Electric International, Inc., the project is scheduled to be completed in 16 months for which a dedicated project team has already been identified and put in place.
Commenting on winning the contract, Mr. L Madhusudhan Rao, Executive Chairman, LITL, said,
“This is a major milestone for us as it is in line with our strategy to win the external contracts. We have proved our execution skills in past and this is the testimony of the same. In the times to come we will be putting more impetus on external contracts which will create benchmarks in the sector. It is worthwhile to mention that during last fiscal, we have been actively bidding for new external contracts and have procured 1,200 MW Thermal EPC order from Moser Baer Group Company, BoP order from Mahagenco for their 1,980 MW Koradi Thermal power plant near Nagpur and also 75 MW solar EPC order from Mahagenco to name a few”.
With this, the order backlog for the LITL group on consolidated basis is Rs 30,900 crore. This is the total value of unexecuted orders as of March 31, 2011 and new orders received till date.
