Websense Noted as the Market Leader in Web Security for the 3rd Straight Year & Recognized for Rapid, 256 Percent Growth in SaaS Solution Delivery
For some companies, leading a market for three years in a row would be enough, but not Websense, who continues to innovate their product line and anticipate their customer needs, while leading the market in a completely new direction of security. This is the case with the Websense® TruWebDLP™ capabilities that are part of the Websense Advanced Classification Engine (ACE) included in the Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere (WSGA), which provides the only real DLP capabilities for outbound communications. This radical innovation, along with TruHybrid deployment with unified on-premise and Security-as-a-Service (SaaS) management, real-time content classification and up-to-the-minute security scanning, has carried Websense once again to the top of IDC’s Worldwide Web Security 2010 – 2014 Forecast and 2009 Vendor Shares report, Doc.#224801, Sep. 2010.
The IDC report further highlights Websense for:
- Continued Web security market leadership, with market share close to 40 percent larger than the next largest vendor.
- Continued growth in Web security solution delivery with 256 percent SaaS growth.
- Superior Web security technology for inbound threats and outbound risks with the Advanced Classification Engine and TRITON™ architecture.
- Previously, Websense V-Series appliance unit growth was noted for the highest rate of growth of any enterprise class content security appliance product according to IDC.
This industry leadership has also brought on new customers, like Bullock, which has been operating for over 50 years and is one of the UK's leading construction service providers in the social housing sector. Bullock recognized that their previous secure Web gateway solution with simple URL filtering couldn’t meet the security challenges of today’s sophisticated blended threats.
“I used to use a secure Web gateway with simple Web filtering, but when the threats changed, and attacks increasingly were targeting our sensitive data, I recognized we needed the additional DLP security and real-time protection that Websense Web Security Gateway Anywhere provides,” said Greg Morley, ICT Manager at Bullock. “In addition, with Websense TruHybrid deployment, I’m able to easily administer the security of both my in-house and branch office users in a single control panel, providing both of these with an unparalleled level of security. I don’t have to settle for a watered down solution for our employees outside of our headquarters. With WSGA, I can give them the same level of real-time Web protection, regardless of where they are located.”
The unique hybrid approach to SaaS and on-premise delivery is made possible only through Websense proprietary TRITON architecture, which not only unifies the management console, but also unifies inbound and outbound controls, something no other security vendor can offer. This hybrid approach is identified by IDC as a key trend in the Web security market that vendors will have to aspire.
