Accomplishing its pursuit of talent hunt in the country LG Electronics India the official sponsors of ICC World Cup Twenty20, introduced the winners of the “LG Lead XI” contest today in New Delhi. With a striking new brand identity and a focus on connecting with emotions of the Indian consumers, LG is looking to bond with its consumer through distinctive marketing strategies.
The 15 talented frontrunners in the age group of 8-12 years will escort the Indian cricket team to the stadium in England this June, singing the National Anthem in chorus for the first time in the history of Cricket. Renowned Bollywood female Actor ‘Kareena Kapoor’ unveiled the historical ICC trophy’s along with the talented children with full fervour. The unique campaign ‘Lead XI’ was initiated with the idea of enhancing national pride through the game of cricket by searching and promoting young talent in the country. The campaign aimed at boosting the National Cricket spirit by acknowledging the young talent and presenting “India’s future Star” on a Global Platform. The Lead XI contest started from April 2009 and ended May, 3rd 2009. The criteria to participate in the contest were to submit a 30 second video clip of the child demonstrating his/her talent. An independent panel of experts selected by LG judged the entries and finalized the winners. LG will also send one of the parents/guardians along with each winning child on trip to England.
