Dr. O.P. Bhalla, chief Patron Manav Rachna International schools, said "The cricket academy has been introduced with a view to leverage the scope of the game in India. Manav Rachna International School, sector 46, Gurgaon held their 2nd Annual Sports Meet – SPRINT 2010 and inaugurated the Manav Rachna School of Cricket today in the presence of Shri P.V.Rathee, IPS, DGP (CID) and President of Haryana Olympic Association. The ultimate aim is to bring the School on the cricket map of India in the near term and national level in the long run.
The Sports Meet consisted of a plethora of events including races , relays , long jump, high jump, Cultural performances, butterfly dances, short put, discus throw, Aerobics displays, races and athletic activities. In all, it was a marvelous display by the students of classes.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Sunny Bansal, Executive Director, MRIS, said, “This is one of the most prestigious events which MRIS has organized. This is better way of building bond and companionship amongst the students. Cricket helps in building various qualities in students that are needed to keep them stress-free and also inculcate leadership quality and sportsman spirit in them. Such event brings undaunted confidence in the students."
It was a spectacular event where the students and the parents were equally charged up with zeal and enthusiasm. The Parents and teachers all stood proudly as students breezed through to the victory stand to receive their medals, trophies and shields.
Talking about the cricket school Mrs. Dhriti Malhotra, Principal, Manav Rachna International School said, “We believe in the overall development of a student. Keeping one confined to books doesn’t serve any purpose in these fast moving times. The launch of this cricket school compliments our efforts to provide children with the best facilities in terms of international teaching pedagogy and world class sports infrastructure”.
The launch was also graced by Mohammed Kaif, Test Cricketer, Anjum Chopra, Women Test Cricketer, Chetan Sharma, Former Test Cricketer, Madan Lal, Former Test Cricketer, Gagan Narang, Legend Shooter, along with Chief Patron Dr. O.P. Bhalla, Vice President Dr. Amit Bhalla, Mr. Sunny Bansal, Executive Director, MRIS Gurgaon, Mr. Prashant Bhalla, Dr. A.V. Bhalla and the heads of all MRIS institution and school. Eminent personnel’s from District Administration were also present.

Over the years, MRIS tournaments have attracted participation from teams across different parts of the country and industry. The Institution also takes pride in being associated with Mr. Gagan Narang, the ace shooter, who is also an MBA student here.
