Manish Khera, CEO of FINO, selected as Young Global Leader 2011 by WEF

Manish Khera, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Financial Inclusion Network and Operations Ltd. (FINO), has been selected with the honour of Young Global Leader (YGL) 2011 by the World Economic Forum.

Every year, the World Economic Forum’s, Young Global Leaders (YGL) features 190 individuals from 65 countries, who represent the future of leadership coming from diverse field of business, government, civil society, arts & culture, academia and media, as well as social entrepreneurs.

On being selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader for 2011, Manish Khera said “I am delighted to be named as a Young Global Leader for 2011. I would like to extend my gratitude to the World Economic Forum who has bestowed such an honor on me and has recognized my efforts to serve the unbanked and the under-banked citizens of this world. I am confident that this recognition will inspire great future leaders to make this world a better place to co-exist. We strongly believe that technology can be leveraged to optimise reach towards all strata of the society for an inclusive and sustainable growth. FINOs’ endeavour has been to bring cost-effective technology solutions for businesses, banks and government to reach out to every un-banked individual in the society and we have successfully capitalized on it and have been duly recognized by the global business community for our efforts”.

Khera will be a part of an exclusive community of Young Global Leaders (YGL) consisting of approximately 1000 individuals worldwide, under the age of 40, selected each year by a Committee chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan. In a statement made by the World Economic Forum, the YGL "is a dynamic, diverse global community of the world's most outstanding, next-generation leaders, who commit to jointly shaping a better future and improving the state of the world by addressing the existing problems and future challenges”.

Created in 2004 by Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, the YGL aims to convene a diverse global community of peers by bringing together Young Global Leaders to catalyze the next generation of leaders through personal experiences that enable YGLs to build knowledge and engender a better understanding of global challenges and trends that can be identified and addressed by global leaders.
