Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI), an apex body of over 500 developers across Mumbai city today assured a slew of measures to assist the anti-malaria campaign launched by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
Among the various measures that are being implemented on a war-footing to fight the spread of malaria in city, MCHI will be offering ten thousand Mosquito nets to MCGM. MCHI also has requested all its members to appoint a private doctor to undertake regular medical check-up of the construction labourers at their respective sites, for next fifteen days.
Mr. Sunil Mantri, President, MCHI said, “We are extending our fullest support to MCGM and asking our members to keep their sites hygienic and take precautions by avoiding open storage of water. We have also asked our members to undertake all the necessary steps as suggested by health authorities in the anti-malaria campaign. MCHI will be assisting the MCGM in carrying the anti-Malaria awareness campaign among the developers as well as the masses.
Mr. Nayan Shah, Vice President, MCHI said, “There are about two lakh workers engaged in the making of 21000 floors at about 2500 sites spread across various parts of the city. MCHI is also assisted by Practicing Engineers Architects and Town Planners Association India (PEATA) in its anti-Malaria campaign with the MCGM”.
MCHI President Mr. Sunil Mantri accompanied by Mr. Nayan Shah, Vice President MCHI today met the MCGM Mayor Ms. Shraddha Jadhav, MCGM Commissioner Mr. Swadhin Kshatriya and committed MCHI’s support to MCGM’s ongoing drive against Malaria.
Among other top officials present at the meeting were Additional Commissioners Mr. Sanjay Sethi and Ms. Manisha Mhaiskar.
Both the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner appreciated the MCHI’s helping hand towards the anti-malaria drive initiated by the MCGM.
