Total toll collection contracts valued at INR 623 Crore; accounts for 44% of NHAI collection
MEPL sets up Toll collections centers across 8 states
MEPL to operate 226 lanes across NHAI highways
MEP Toll Road Pvt Ltd. (MEPL), one of India’s leading toll management companies, has been awarded 20 toll collection contracts by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) across 8 states since the beginning of 2011. The estimated toll collection is Rs. 623 crore rupees which accounts for almost 44% of NHAI’s total toll collection during this period.
Currently, MEP Toll Road Pvt. Ltd. along with its subsidiary company AJ Tolls Pvt. Ltd. has a pan India presence in as many as 8 states which includes Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra managing toll collection from 226 lanes. Prior to the contract, NHAI was collecting toll of INR 1,100 Crore, now the amount has escalated to almost INR 1,440 Crore. MEPL is now set for expansion with as many as 30 bids currently in the offing.
The most recent project bagged from NHAI was of 4 toll plazas in Andhra Pradesh for an amount of INR 95 Crore-Nathavalasa Toll Plaza, Chilakapalem Toll Plaza, Bolapalli Toll Plaza and Tangatur Toll Plaza on Kavali–Ongole section of National Highway and the Ongole-Chilakaluripet section.
