Mercedes-Benz and STYLO International, a London-based Asian fashion entertainment company will be joining forces to stage the Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand Prix party entitled “STYLO & the 7 Deadly sins’ in the run-up to the inaugural Indian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Also signing at the MOU will be Air Asia X, STYLO’s global airline partner and celebrity haunt “Hype”. The event will be held in Mumbai.
Launched in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the 10th Malaysian Petronas Formula 1 GP in early 2008 by legendary shoe designer Jimmy Choo OBE and Her Majesty the Queen of Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz partnered STYLO for all its F1 parties in Malaysia since STYLO’s inception. STYLO debuted at the inaugural Singapore F1 night race presented also by Mercedes-Benz in the second half of 2008.
Its bold and sometimes decadent style of fashion parties as well as coveted VIP invitations quickly made SYLO a permanent feature amongst the well-heeled international fans of the F1. In 2010, it commissioned what is still the world’s most expensive dress ensemble valued at USD 30million; a gown called “The Nightingale” with matching Jimmy Choo Couture shoes studded with 701 pieces of Mouawad diamonds. Mouawad are Swiss jewellers who created the diamond-studded Victoria’s Secret bra ensemble worn by Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks worth over USD 10m.
Mercedes-Benz which supports 3 Formula 1 teams at the upcoming F1 will be hosting the Mercedes-Benz STYLO Fashion Grand Prix official party alongside STYLO in the city of Mumbai. Guests list will include 300 of Mercedes-Benz’s top customers from all over India as well as a handpicked list comprising the who’s who of Mumbai picked by co-hosts DJ Aqeel and his wife, Farah Khan Ali.
