MIS Asia, the region's authority on enterprise information and communications technology (ICT) leadership, has listed NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR) – world leaders in self-service technology, amongst the top "Global 75" technology vendors in the world. The annual MIS Asia top ‘Global 75’ technology listing is based on evaluation of an organisation on industry leadership, products and services innovation, strategic roles in the global enterprise Information Technology (IT) market, contribution to IT industry development and financial performance in the past year.
NCR listing in the prestigious list is primarily credited to the introduction of industry relevant innovative self-service solutions that help banks in the region to enhance customer service and create revenue generating opportunities. Some of the key innovative solutions introduced by NCR in the Asia Pacific region include the NCR APTRA Interactive Teller Technology that lets consumer’s video conference with live, remote bank tellers directly from the ATM beyond banking hours.
NCR recently introduced an innovative NCR APTRA Mobile Banking application for United Overseas Bank (UOB) in Singapore that enables users to withdraw cash without an ATM card and send money to others for withdrawal from any UOB ATM. The cardless ATM withdrawals are available on every one of UOB’s 600-strong, all-NCR Singapore fleet, powered by NCR APTRA Activate, the multi-channel self-service application to which UOB migrated in 2010.
In China, NCR partnered with Uni2uni.com, a well-known local aggregated e-Biz service provider to launch an ATM-e value added solution which enables banks to carry out cost-effective e-commerce on ATMs. Jiangsu Bank has become the first in offering its customers the convenience and safety to shop and pay for items on ATMs.
“Some of the largest companies in the world rely on NCR and this recognition reinforces our commitment to be strategic partners to help grow our customer’s business.” said Stelios Fragkos, NCR vice president for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region. “We are committed to introduce new innovative self-service solutions to both mature and emerging markets and continue investing in channel partner enablement and program development to ensure our products and services are available to our customers when and where they want.”
The Strategic 100 consists of three categories; The Global 75 (for those with a global footprint), the Regional 20 (for those who clearly dominate in Asia) and the Rising Stars 5 (for the fairly young companies that appear to be driving major technology developments and deployment trends, moving forward).
