Nike India, today announced the launch of its nationwide “Bleed Blue” cricket initiative, a landmark endeavor, expressing the support of a nation with a simple ‘handprint’ to the team that marks India’s cricketing presence on the globe.
Through this initiative, Nike aims to harness the passion that millions of Indians have for the sport of cricket and the Indian Cricket team by proving that ‘Blue’ is not just a colour; it is a billion hopes, dreams and aspirations, fuelling a cricket crazy nation. This Indian fan’s passion and dedication towards the team is what will inspire him/her to leave his blue hand print on sheets of fabric that Nike will be sending across various locations in the country.
Nike’s Bleed Blue initiative will commence on September 6th, 2010. The sheets of fabric will travel to select Nike retail, Schools, Colleges, Cricket maidans among other locations across India.
Further, this campaign is being extended on to the digital platform for fans who may choose to express their support digitally, through facebook and nikecricket.in. Participants can generate their own digital hand prints through facebook connect by simply logging onto the nikecricket site, enter their facebook user id and password. The platform ensures that relevant information from the participant’s facebook profile to generate a blue hand print.
