NITIE is organizing a unique event – ‘MahaMandi 2010’, in Mumbai on July 31st (Saturday), an exclusive program which works in two ways:
- It inculcates in students the practise of Corporate Social Responsibility and the facet of giving back to the society.
- It serves as a practical avenue to exercise their academics in a real life scenario (on the streets of Mumbai).
What is MahaMandi?
MahaMandi is a daylong event in which around 1000 students from top b-schools in Mumbai hit the streets of the city selling educative toys manufactured by ‘Navnirmiti’, a NGO working for economically underprivileged children. It educates the students of giving back to the society while practising their academics in the challenging market place.
The event is being sponsored by Canara Bank and rediff.com.
Mandi used to be an event exclusive to NITIE, this year we have invited other top b-schools (Tata Institute of Social Sciences - TISS, Shailesh J Mehta School of Management - SJMSOM IIT Bombay, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies - NMIMS and KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies - SJIMS) to participate.
The event will be flagged off by actor Rajit Kapur (of Byomkesh Bakshi fame).
