Noted actor Nana Patekar inaugurates student parliament website

MAEER’s MIT School of Government (MIT-SOG) in association with the Ministry of Higher & Technical Education is organizing the 1st Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders (Bharatiya Chhatra Parishad) from Jan12-14, 2011 at Swami Vivekananda Mandap, MAEER’s MIT, Pune. Prior to the event MIT-SOG launched the event website www.indianstudentparliament.com to inform the youth of India about the Parliament thereby creating enthusiasm amongst the younger lot to be a part of the grand event.

The website was launched by veteran actor Nana Patekar at Pune’s MAEER’s MIT on December 5. The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Shri. Rajesh Tope, Minister of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Prof. (Dr.) Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder President and Managing Trustee of MAEER’s MIT Group of Educational Institutions and Mr. Rahul V. Karad, Chief Initiator & Dean of MIT School of Government.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad Founder President of MAEER’s MIT Group of Educational Institutions said, “The website will provide an over-view of the Parliament and complete details about the various aspects covering the 3-day parliament. He added, it will also be a breeding ground for the young enthusiastic and bright minds committed to lead the society, to effect the political changes and strengthen the democracy.”

Elaborating on the website Mr. Rahul V. Karad, Chief Initiator & Dean of MIT School of Government said, “The website provides a detailed program schedule of the three-day event, beginning from January 12- January 14, 2011 including the Topics and the Speakers. The website will also provide an opportunity for students and other participants to register online for the event.”

“The participants can also post their views on the website about the three-day parliamentary sessions. The resolutions passed during the session will be sent to various policies making bodies of the union government,” added Mr. Karad who is also the visionary behind the theme, ‘1st Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders’.

MAEERS' MIT School of Government in association with Ministry of Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra is organizing the 1st Parliament of Indian Student Council Leaders from Jan 12-14, 2011 at MIT Campus in Pune comprising 11 sessions. In the span of these three days participants will be given an opportunity to interact with prominent personalities from Politics, Spiritual, Environment, Media, Social movement, Entertainment and Sports World to interact with them and speak their mind on the dais.

The event would observe participation of 10,000 to 12,000 students from 4,000 colleges across Maharashtra and 2,000 colleges from across the country. Each of the sessions during the three day summit will be opened by Vice-Chancellors of one of the State Universities of Maharashtra for deliberations.

Each session will be addressed by Who’s who from the respective sector, for eg. - To name a few, these are -
