- Amit Abhyankar elected as a statutory professional member (MBCI) of the Business Continuity Institute - UK
Omnitech InfoSolutions Ltd (BSE Code: 532882), India’s leading Business Availability and Business Continuity Solutions provider, today strengthened its global position in Business Continuity Management. The Business Continuity Institute (BCI-UK), the world’s largest and most respected BCM institute has recognized Mr. Amit Abhyankar, Associate Vice President – Business Continuity Services as a certified Business Continuity practitioner. Mr. Abhyankar has been accredited as a Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI) by BCI-UK. He joins an elite group of only 30 Indian members to hold this prestigious qualification.
By demonstrating their commitment to high quality training and professionalism of their staff, Omnitech receives an edge over other Business Continuity services provider in India. The company can now leverage the certification and can create a global platform to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the field of Business Continuity. Omnitech can now access the Asia-Pacific market, which is one of the key emerging markets to offer business continuity services, with increased confidence. This will also further support the expansion plans of the company in the respective region and will add credibility towards the brand.
Commenting on the accreditation received, Mr. Atul Hemani, Managing Director, Omnitech InfoSolutions said, “We are proud to have Amit as a statutory professional member of BCI, UK. This would definitely add a star to our credibility thereby helping us to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the field of Business Continuity. Further, the strategies and practices recommended by Omnitech would be at par with the global standards.”
According to Mr. Abhyankar, in order to become a BCI member, the two most important criteria are knowledge & experience, where knowledge is examined through ‘The Certificate Examination of the Business Continuity Institute’ (CBCI) and experience through ‘Scored Assessment Application’ –which requires minimum 3 years of experience in all six areas of BCM practice such as management areas, embedding BCM culture in the organization, understanding the organization, developing recovery strategy, implementing response structure & DR/BCM plan and maintaining & auditing the BC Plan.
Lorraine Darke, Executive Director of the Business Continuity Institute commented “I am particularly delighted to welcome Amit as a Member of the Institute in the grade of MBCI. This is a senior grade and not easily achieved. Amit has had to prove his theoretical knowledge of the subject matter through examination but most importantly, which is essential when working with clients, he has had to demonstrate that he has the necessary experience to put this theory into practice. Amit’s presentation at the recent BCM World Conference & Exhibition showed what a through professional he is. On a personal note what shines through from Amit is his passion for and commitment to Business Continuity Management as a discipline. I very much look forward to continue working with him and his colleagues at Omnitech.”
