Pennar Industries’ subsidiary Pennar Engineered Building Systems (PEBS) has bagged a prestigious order from L&T for the first phase of construction of Pre Engineered Steel Buildings for CHENNAI METRO RAILWAY. These buildings are to be constructed within two years time. This order is for the design and construction of the Workshop buildings, stabling yard and the infrastructure shed to be set up at Koyambedu in Chennai city amounting to 2000 Metric Tonnes.
PEBS commenced commercial production in January 2010 and is involved in the design, manufacture and erection of pre-engineered steel buildings in technical association with a leading company in the US, NCI Building Systems. PEBS offers Double Lok standing seam roofing system with a 100% leak proof warranty.
The value of orders booked in fifteen months from January 01st, 2010 is about INR 400 Crores and the estimated revenue in 2010-2011 is about INR 169 Crores. PEBS targets to reach revenue of INR 500 Crores in two years. PEBS has serviced many prestigious customers including L&T, P&G, Thermax, Schneider Electric, Dr. Reddy’s, Ultratech, My Home Cements, NSL Group, HBL Group, ACCIL, Core Green Sugars, CCCL, Shapoorji & Pallonji, Triton Valves etc., The major sectors being addressed are factories, warehouses, retail stores, steel plants, cement plants, multi storied buildings, sports stadiums, air craft hangers etc.,
PEBS factory at Sadashivpet (Hyderabad) is the first in India to receive “Gold Rating” for a green factory by the IGBC. In view of tremendous response, the capacity at Sadashivpet plant has been doubled recently to 60,000MT per annum. To cater to the north Indian market more effectively, PEBS will establish a new manufacturing facility in Haryana or Rajasthan.
