PMI hosts Project Management Conference India 2010

Three-day event brings together leaders and peers across India to exchange ideas on emerging industry trends

Project Management India (PMI) is hosting its annual Project Management Conference India from 19th-21st November 2010 at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai. The conference seeks to provide a common networking platform to thousands of professional, thought leaders and peers across all industries in India to exchange ideas on today’s projects and emerging trends.

Themed, “Leveraging Project Management for Excellence, Growth and Transformation," the conference will focus on the role of Project Management within an organization. It will also demonstrate how to drive innovation, improve bottom-line performance and develop competitive advantage as well as throw light on topics like Project Management for Cloud Computing projects, Agile Project Management and managing diverse cultures in the global world.

The conference will serve as a platform to recognize talent within the industry and applaud achievements in the field with the PMI Professional Awards Program. The two categories include PMI India Best Project of the Year Award AND PMI India Award for Contribution to the Community. The award winners will be announced at the opening ceremony of the Conference.

The three-day event will also have an illustrious panel of speakers in attendance comprising Mr. D. Venkataramanan, President E&C, Larsen & Toubro as Chief Guest and Mr. Gregory Balestrero, President and CEO, PMI Worldwide, who is the keynote speaker. The PMI-FICCI Market Survey report will also be unveiled during the conference, providing insight into six key sectors which are IT-ITES, energy, defense, auto, infrastructure and realty.

Mr. Upendra Giri, Founder and CEO, AstroWix Corporation will moderate a CXO Round Table Discussion themed, “India Infrastructure on Growth Trajectory: Unspoken Challenges and Emerging Opportunities.” Other participants include Mr. Rohit Modi, Deputy Managing Director, Gammon India, Mr. Rajeev Batra, Executive Director and Head, Project Advisory Services, KPMG, Mr. Gopal Kapur, Founder and President, Center for Project Management and, Mr. Pankaj Jain, Ministry of Statistics & Program Implementation.

Case papers have been sent in by Industry experts and practicing project managers. Out of the 49 shortlisted, 32 case papers will be presented at the Conference and published in the conference souvenir.
