After the successful completion of local and national rounds, The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a world leading professional society for engineering and technology, is hosting the Asia Pacific finals of Present Around The World (PATW) Competition in India’s emerging education hub Pune.

Date : July 30, 2010
Venue : Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration, Pune

PATW is amongst one of the most awaited and exciting international events organized by IET. The competition judges the contestants by their presentation skills and knowledge on technical content, which are split in 75:25 ratio. This enables young professionals at varying levels of their studies or career to participate at the competition. PATW is arranged in four levels:

  1. Local (Students of the engineering colleges in each local network)
  2. National (Winners of each local network in the country)
  3. Asia Pacific  (Winners of each country in the Asia Pacific Region)
  4. Final competition in UK (Winners of each region in the world)

The competition is open to all Students, Apprentices or Young Professionals who have graduated within the last 7 years (whether they are IET members or prospective members). All the expenses of the winners at each level of the competition are being sponsored by IET giving them an exposure at an international level and an opportunity to win £1,000.

Commenting on the occasion Shekhar Sanyal, Country Head, IET India, said, “India would play a very important role for the IET’s future growth as the country turns into a knowledge system powerhouse. The Asia Pacific finals of PATW would certainly be a catalyst for the Mumbai network to give a glimpse of the IET activities in India and around the globe, and also provide an opportunity to the spectators to be a part of it.”

The students of Mumbai network, which includes the city of Pune, have successively won laurels by winning the National, the Asia Pacific Level and the world level competitions in 2008 and 2009.
