Refex Energy, a Mumbai based company, has announced that it has signed a MOU for establishing 50 MW solar PV power plant with the Govt. of Gujarat represented by Energy and Petrochemicals Department at last weeks Vibrant Gujarat global investors summit 2009. Refex Energy Ltd intends to commence the first phase of the 50 MW in 2009 and complete the proposed investment in stages. This project will specialize in PV system integration and will include design, supply, implementation and maintenance of solar installations for 50 MW solar PV Power Plant.
Commenting on the MOU Mr. Arun Mehta, Director of Refex Energy Limited said, “During recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit 2009 (VGGIS '09), Refex Energy signed MOU for 50 (MW) Solar Power Plant with total investment of Rs 1,000 crores. We are proud to be associated with Gujarat. Gujarat has recently released its policy on grid connected solar power and it is one of the first on the country on this scale. We believe Gujarat with its abundant open space and solar radiation is ideal for solar power and the policy is a right step towards making Gujarat a leader in renewable energy in the country.”
