Mumbai, November 1, 2006: In a move that would benefit the 2.6 crore customers of Reliance Communications (RCL) and strengthen its B2C mobile application suite, Reliance Mobile World (R World) introduces yet another mass market utility service - Gas Booking via the mobile phone . After Railways and Airline bookings, India Speed Post tracking, bill payment and mobile banking, cooking gas booking is being extended to the Reliance customers as another convenience on the go. To start with Hindustan Petroleum (HP) gas customers using Reliance Mobile World and SMS can make use of options like gas bookings, queries on on-mobile phones, real-time complaint registrations and many more. Currently, there are approximately 2.25 crore HP gas customers nationwide. |

This service would enable an automated and robust Customer Relations Management (CRM) solution for the customers of Reliance Communications and Hindustan Petroleum on mobile phones. Requests received on Reliance Mobile World (R World) would be acknowledged and passed on a real- time basis to the nearest distributor for immediate fulfillment. No more wasted time at the premises of gas booking agencies or being put on hold when one calls the Gas agency. The nationwide rollout of this service commenced with the commercial launch of service in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, where Reliance Communications and HP have close to 20 lakh and 12 lakh customers respectively. Currently, the country has close to 9 crore LPG consumers and an average of 20 lakh gas bookings are made daily... Close to 75% of gas bookings are done by contacting the nearest distributor directly and 25% are done through automated Interactive Voice services. One has to just click on Reliance Mobile World>MoreServices>TravelNShop for a one-time registration with his Distributor code and consumer code. Once that is done, booking a cylinder is just a click away. The customer is also given a booking number, date and time. The other features in this application include leakage, non-delivery and mechanical complaints which can be accessed at the click of a button. The same features are also available on SMS wherein to register one has to SMS HP to 2626. In order to book the gas, one has to SMS HP for booking the gas.
