For the first time in India, a professional holistic health and wellness expert, SHERU HARMIT AANGRISH popularly known as SHERU will be actively involved in health development, giving importance to not just physical but also mental and social well-being.
Sheru boasts of a rich experience in the field of Health, Fitness and Nutrition and rendering services to stalwarts like Ken Devrill (Former Director - Marks & Spencer), Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and many renowned personalities from India, ranging from businessmen, politicians to Bollywood actors. Sheru is very optimistic about bringing a positive change in perception about health in India considering there is already such hype on this front.
Sheru is spearheading an International level fitness exposition named SHERU CLASSIC which includes Body Building Championship for men and Figure Championship for women in India to participate and receive unmatched awards for their accomplishments. The price money is a whopping 1,50,000 USD which is a first–ever in India and in fact the 3rd highest in the world!
All this has been made possible with blessings of Weider group and Mr. Jim Manion (Chairman - International Federation of Body Building – IFBB), who have supported Sheru since inception of the idea. A grand event like Sheru Classic will be on lines of the numero uno competition in the world Mr. Olympia. The only other such contest is The Arnold Classic which Sheru is confident is at par with Sheru Classic once it takes off in September.
Undoubtedly, this would be a great exposure for Indian masses to know about health, fitness and bodybuilding by renowned experts such as Mr. Jay Cutler (IFBB professional bodybuilder being current & 4 times Mr. Olympia winner), Mr. Phil Heath (2010 Mr. Olympia, 2nd place), Mr. Branch Warren (2010 Mr. Olympia, 3rd place), Mr. Kai Greene (Arnold Classic, 2010), Mr. Dennis Wolf, Ms. Nicole Wilkins (2011 IFBB Figure International), Ms. Erin Stern (2010 Olympia Figure Champion) along with many more who are esteemed participants for Sheru Classic. Talks are almost being finalized for a TV show with a well renowned Bollywood celebrity.
A confident Sheru excitedly states, “Healthy body is a wonderful gift and we should endeavour to make it more beautiful in most natural possible manners. I want to break the myth surrounding Bodybuilding and establish Fitness techniques used in this art to be the stepping stones of prime health! I want to personally thank the biggies of Body Building around the globe who are making this effort to come down to India for my event; Especially, Jay Cutler who has, along with other major athletes, already tweeted about his arrival here. There is a substantial buzz about the event in US and Europe and many companies have already started approaching me for sponsorships for Sheru Classic. I am proud that being an Indian, my initiative to place India on the World Map of Fitness, is taking the desired shape. I look for all the support I can get!”
Bodybuilding is an art in itself. It requires patience and perseverance. In contrast, today there’s a large population who perceive bodybuilding to be having beefed-up bodies and consumption of various steroids. Sheru aspires to restore Bodybuilding’s lost glory and raise it to rightful place in people’s mind.
