Sterlite Technologies was awarded the regional Star Performer Silver Shield in the large enterprises category, by EEPC (Engineering Export Promotion Council, India). Sterlite received this award in recognition of its outstanding contribution to power conductor exports during the year 2007-08. Sterlite has made substantial inroads in developing its global client footprint and market share for power conductors in Africa, Middle East and Europe.
Additionally, in its annual survey on the Indian telecommunications equipment industry, Voice & Data Magazine indicated that the Indian telecom cables market in FY 2009-10 was Rs 1,200 Crores (~US$ 225 million), of which Sterlite had a dominant market share of over 30%.
