Syndicate Bank launches 'Maestro Global Debit Card'

Syndicate Bank, a premier public sector & tech-savvy bank joins hands with MasterCard Worldwide, a leading global payments company to further empower the bank’s customers and business enterprises. 

On this occasion, the ‘Syndicate Bank Maestro Global Debit card’ was unveiled in the presence of Sri. Ravi Chaterjee, Executive Director, Syndicate Bank and Sri. T.V.Seshadri, General Manager, South Asia and Country President, India, MasterCard Worldwide. Syndicate Bank has also entered into an MOU with MasterCard to provide an additional e-payment channel to carry their payment transactions through MasterCard Network. 

Syndicate Bank with an existing customer base of 26 million aims at doubling the convenience for its customers by offering ‘Maestro Global Debit Card’. This initiative gives bank’s customers an option of choosing the Maestro Advantage for their payment needs. 

Speaking on the launch, Sri. Ravi Chaterjee, Executive Director, Syndicate Bank said, “At Syndicate Bank we continuously endeavor to evolve and enhance our products to provide best-in-class services for our card members. I am delighted to announce the launch of this debit card in association with MasterCard. This initiative will facilitate a 360 degree solution to all our existing and prospective customers.” 

Speaking on the occasion, Sri. T.V. Seshadri, General Manager, South Asia and Country President, India, MasterCard Worldwide said, “We are pleased to be associated with Syndicate Bank for our leading PIN-based debit program ‘Maestro’. This provides us an opportunity to deliver the MasterCard Advantage of convenience, safety and efficiency to our Syndicate Bank MasterCard cardholders. This tie-up will help to curtail the inefficiencies related to cash and cheque transactions and meet unique consumer demands with innovative and smarter payment solutions.” 

Syndicate Bank customers can use their Syndicate Bank-Maestro debit card across 210 plus countries at 31.7 million acceptance locations worldwide. The Maestro Card has additional security features with compulsory pin authentication at Point-of-Sale (PoS) terminals and merchant establishments. This is one more unique value-add payment service offered by MasterCard to Syndicate Bank Customers. 

Sri. K.Devananda Upadhyaya, General Manager, Marketing, Syndicate Bank and Sri. Vikas Varma, Vice President, Business Development, South Asia, MasterCard Worldwide were also present to grace the occasion.
