The Nite Show on CVO has the Angry Young Men, and Action heroes in some of the best action dhamakaas in typical bollywood ishtyle and characteristic opulence. “Action speaks louder than words” and no one believes it more than our desi Daniel Craigs!! Like they say ‘laton ki bhoot baton se nahi mante……. ‘.

“So watch out as a Bachchan, or a Devgan or a Khiladi Kumar, or a Deadly Deol or a Jaggu Dada, or a Sallu Bhai or a Sanju Baba toss a villain or pack a punch which is at par or more powerful than by those from a Stallone, a Schwarzenegger, a Will Smith, or a Keanu Reeves or a Brad Pitt” says Sumeet Das, G.M. Marketing and Branding, he adds “March belongs to the Macho Men who left the villains with broken bones and jaws, March belongs to Matinee Idols who left the audiences mesmerized with dare-devil stunts, stratagems and sweeping panache. March belongs to Mega Stars who left the producers with swelling box-office receipts.“

Shakti – Friday 6 March
And then there is ‘Shakti’ which brought together Tinsel town’s two best actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar playing the angry son and anguished father to immaculate perfection. It was an actual ‘clash of titans’ with unsurpassable performances from these icons.

Some of the mega-hits to be showcased in the month are ‘Shool’, ‘Yudh’, ‘Garv’, ‘Mohra’, ‘Aaj ka Gangleader’, ‘Parvarish’, ‘Mr. Natwarlal’, ‘Bardasht’, ‘Andar Bahar’, ‘Arjun’, ‘Yodha’, ‘Champion’, ‘Plan’ , ‘Aan’, and ‘Tridev’. These are wholesome entertainers with lots of thrills, packed with action and laced with romantic frills.

Gangaajal – 8 March
Watch out for the stark and gripping ‘Gangaajal’ on the 8th of March in which Prakash Jha knits together a frightening expose of corruption in Tejpur which simply acts as a metaphor for corruption which is so embedded in our society.

Shiva – 13 March
Ram Gopal Varma’s  ‘Shiva’ scheduled on Friday the 13th will always be remembered for catapulting Nagarjuna to super stardom.

The ‘Premiere Blockbuster’ for the month is  ‘Tango Charlie’ by high level craftsman Mani Shankar. ‘Tango Charlie’ looks at ‘war’ as a state of the mind as seen through the mind of the state. The movie featuring Ajay Devgan, Bobby Deol, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Nanadana Sen and Tanisha is a fascinating study of terrorism, violence and valour.

Enjoy your Sunday morning tea and toast with some of the best thought provoking cinemas like Chakra, Aandhi, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer and Ijaazat which are benchmark movies dealing with many prevalent issues existing in India. Also featuring in this slot is Page 3, which takes a behind-the -scenes  look at the lifestyle of the A list celebrities in the metro cities. This movie by Madhur Bhandarkar explores the networking and power-play between the air-kissing, champagne swilling celebrities and the media all witnessed through the eyes of an entertainment journalist.

“As always, CVO is way ahead of the rest and has the best of both in terms of variety for its viewers and power of choice for prospective advertisers. We understand the business of movies and have constantly been the trendsetter. Movies on CVO are the ones defined Bollywood, the movies that raised the bar, movies that re-defined the concept of Blockbusters and Magnum-Opuses… and in the process CVO defines entertainment and defies competition” says Sumeet Das
