Kolkata, September 03, 2007: Leading Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) Goldman Sachs Investments (Mauritius) Ltd and Global Investment House Company A/C Global Asia Fund Limited (Mauritius)- Global Proprietar bought 29.78 lakh shares or, 1.33 % of the companies equity capital and 26.23 lakh shares or, 1.17% in Assam Company till 24th August.Apart from these two FIIs, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana S.A. S.V. purchased 10.93 lakh shares, Credit Suisee (Singapore) Limited 9.80 lakh shares and Citi Global Markets Mauritius Pvt. Ltd 8.85 lakh shares in the month of August 2007. All these purchases were made in a span of two weeks starting from August 10, 2007 to August 24, 2007.The total purchases of FII's in these two weeks stood at 85.59 lakh shares or, 3.83 % of the equity shares.
