India’s biggest online technical paper contest gets even bigger with 2300 students participating from 1000 educational institutes
Unisys India today announced the results of Cloud 20/20 Version 2.0, one of India’s largest technical paper contests. The contest is designed to encourage innovative ideas and recognise emerging technical talent from amongst the country’s leading engineering colleges.
Building on its successful launch in 2010, this year Unisys Cloud 20/20 Version 2.0 witnessed participation by more than 2300 students from over 1000 national educational institutions, including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs); National Institutes of Technology (NITs); International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore; and Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani.
Students contributed papers that delved into areas such as automation for cloud computing; virtualization for servers, storage and networks; application development for the cloud; and security issues in the cloud.
Following several rigorous rounds of evaluation, including face-to-face interviews and final presentations, the judges selected Jai Bhatt from Nirma University, Gandhinagar as the first-prize winner for his entry on ‘SentiCloud’, which analyzes the degree of negativity or positivity contained in an article or write-up. Jai Bhatt walked away the proud owner of an Apple MacBook laptop.
The first runner-up, Saloni Maru from PESIT, Bangalore, won an Apple iPad for her entry on ‘Railway Break Journey Tracker’, which facilitates the search for alternate railway routes from a source to a destination. The second runner-up, Ravjot Singh from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, won a Samsung Wave 2 for his paper on ‘Bringing Current Programming Languages to Cloud’, which helps compile and execute programs remotely using the cloud.
In addition, Unisys India will offer the three winners internship opportunities.
