Unity Infraprojects Ltd., (BSE: 532746), one of India’s leading civil engineers, posted a PAT of Rs.17.65 crores for the third quarter of the 2009 against Rs.17.75 crores for the same quarter last fiscal. Net Income during the same period rose 27% to Rs.298 crores, up from Rs.234 crores in the last fiscal.
The company’s Net Sales for the nine months ended December 31, 2008 shot up by 40% at Rs.756 crores as against Rs.540 crores last year. PAT climbed 24% to Rs.49 crores from Rs. 39 crores during the same period.
The Earning Per Share (E.P.S.) for the Nine Months period increase to Rs.36.44 per Share from Rs.29.32 per Share.
Speaking about the results, Mr. Kishore K. Avarsekar, Chairman and Managing Director, Unity Infraprojects Ltd. said, “Our extensive portfolio of completed and ongoing civil construction projects is coming up in various Indian states and we intend to step up our pace and spread our operations further across the country.”
Early this month, Unity bagged a Rs. 74 crores order from Project Seabird, for building township and allied facilities at Karwar in Karnataka. In October, Unity bagged an order for a total contract value of Rs. 375.25 crores from the Pink City Expressway Pvt. Ltd. of Rajasthan for up gradation of a 4-lane road to 6-lane. Unity’s order book position now stands at Rs. 3,182 crores.
