Vandana Vidhyut CMD bags 'Indian Achiever's Award'

Rice Husk based bio-mass power plant Vandana Vidhyut Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Mr Vinod Agrawal has won the “Indian Achiever’s Award for Industrial Excellence” from leading knowledge forum Indian Economic Development and Research Association (IEDRA).

The award has been conferred on Mr. Agrawal for his “outstanding contribution in the Economic and Industrial Development” of the country.

Vandana Vidhyut Ltd., a part of the Vandanaa Group currently operates an 8 MW Rice Husk based bio-mass power plant at Bilaspur which is amongst the first in Chhattisgarh.

The company has signed MOU with the Govt. of Chhattisgarh and the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board to set up a 540 MW Independent Thermal Power Plant at village Salora, Tahsil Katghora, Dist. Korba, Chhattisgarh.

Mr. Agrawal said that the project is at an advance stage of implementation and has got almost all the necessary clearances from both Central and State Governments. The project implementation will be in phases and the production will commence for the 1st Phase by June 2011, 2nd by Sept.2011 and 3rd phase by June 2012.
