About NASSCOM Innovation Awards
Taking into account the importance of innovation for India’s IT-BPO industry and the need for nurturing an innovation ecosystem in the country, NASSCOM launched its innovation initiative in 2003. The goal was to proliferate the use of innovative practices across the Indian IT-BPO landscape and support these by developing a culture that was conducive to fostering innovation, technology advancement and the creation of IP. It was five years ago that NASSCOM introduced its Innovation Awards for the very first time in India, with a view to recognize some of the most ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking and path-breakers organizations within the country’s IT-BPO industry.
The awards will be presented to large, medium and start-up companies in categories such as Market facing innovation (focused around ‘new to world’ or ‘new to market’ technologies that help customers realize value); Business model and business process innovation (which covers IT services and products that have enabled customers to realize value through a transformation of their business models, business processes or other structural change such as realignment of their IT architecture) and Business innovation (which includes innovations made by an IT-BPO firm to its own business processes, business models, business inputs, go to market strategies, delivery models, methodologies, etc. to realize significant value to itself). A special Start-up category recognizes innovations of recently incorporated ventures, with a view to promoting young entrepreneurs
