India’s first & largest IGBC certified warehouse facility; YCH expands presence in India with pioneering true VMI operations for MNC/ Electronic manufacturers and suppliers, and plans for strategic DistriParks across India
YCH India, the Indian subsidiary of leading Singapore-based logistics and supply chain management (SCM) company YCH Group, today announced the official inauguration of its 525, 000 sq. ft. YCH DistriPark in Sriperumbudur, in the Hi-tech SIPCOT SEZ. With a total investment of approximately INR 100 crores, YCH India has plans to do further investments in the country within the next few years as part of their expansion plan. Strategically located along the Chennai-Bangalore Highway, the eco-friendly and energy-efficient YCH DistriPark is also the first warehouse facility in India to have been awarded the Gold Status for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), thereby terming the facility as the first such green warehouse facility in India. YCH India is also the first SCM company to pioneer true and customized VMI operations for the electronics industry in India.
On the sidelines of an impressive function held to mark this occasion, YCH shared their extensive growth plans in the offing to tap India’s consumption boom through supporting the various manufacturing logistics and consumer fulfillment requirements of its world-class clientele.
Singapore Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, who was Guest-of-Honour at the inauguration event, said, "YCH is a good example of a Singaporean company that has successfully ventured abroad. I am glad that YCH has opened up a DistriPark in India. It shows our companies' optimism about India's economic growth prospects. Singapore was India's second largest investor from 2000 to 2008.
