Addressing the inaugural programme here today, Jonathan Shrier of the US Secretary Office of Global Food Security, said stakeholders from Kenya, Liberia and Malawi would be trained in the extension techniques.
As part of the broader US-India Agriculture Dialogue, the triangular engagement will share proven innovations from India's private and public sector to address food insecurity malnutrition and poverty in the target African countries.
"The initiative is aimed at addressing food and nutrition security and to redefine the way we work to address those issues around the world today," Shrier said.
'Feed the Future' efforts are driven by country-led priorities and rooted in partnership with donor organisations private sector and civil society.
The initiative focuses on small holder farmers, particularly women, and supports partner countries in developing their agriculture sectors to spur economic growth, increase incomes and reduce hunger and under-nutrition.
India plays the role of a development partner and the strategic partnership aims at improving the productivity and strengthening the market institutions in Kenya, Liberia and Malawi, Shrier said.
