Kanhar, the leader of the Kui Samaj Samanoya Samiti, an outfit of Kui tribes, allegedly led the group which attacked candidates from other districts on Tuesday. About 30 persons including women were claimed to have been injured in the incident.
"We have been interrogating Lambodar Kanhar after arresting him. He will be forwarded to the court soon," G C Mallick, the additional superintendent of police, Kandhamal, told PTI.
The accused are to be charged under nine sections of the IPC, Phulbani Town Police Station officer Siba Prasad Biswal said.
The police were looking for six others, he said.
While driving out the job seekers from outside Kandhamal and Boudh districts, Kanhar and his group had allegedly beaten them up, the candidates had alleged.
