People intercepted Chaurasia's vehicle near Nokha crossing and shouted slogans against him before holding him hostage for nearly two hours.

A police team rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.

The MLA was allowed to go only after he assured the people of ensuring regular power supply and that he would take up the law and order situation with the state government.

Talking to reporters later, the BJP MLA lashed out at Power minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav whom he described as 'worthless' for failure to ensure adequate power supply in Bihar.
