The 25 bodies were sent to Bihar, Haryana and Tripura after identification, the sources said.
Another three were sent to Rajasthan and Haryana, East Jaintia Hills District deputy commissioner A Bhagotia told PTI.
At present the authorities were left with one unidentified body which was being kept at the morgue of the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, near here.
"We will wait for a day or two before taking a final call on the last body," Bhagotia said.
Meanwhile, authorities have begun cracking down on buses and travel agencies violating rules laid down under the MV Act.
