"The Centre is opposed to discrimination against any state on development issues, but at the same time it is imperative for state governments to take full advantage of the Centre's schemes to improve the lot of the people," Anwar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture said.
States, including Bihar, should spread information related to central schemes aimed for the benefit the people, Anwar said at the launch of the Bharat Nirman Public Awareness campaign in Kishanganj district.
The union minister regretted that districts like Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia and Katihar were worst off in terms of development.
The Centre has launched several schemes for development and welfare in 120 identified minority-dominated districts, including the border districts, but the intended beneficiaries failed to take advantage due to lack of awareness about the schemes, he said.
