At a public meeting at village Mandhana in Mahendragarh district, Hooda said since he was aware of the problem of water shortage in the area, his government had got BML-Hansi Butana canal constructed.
"....But some forces opposed to the development of the area were trying to create legal hindrances in the implementation of the project," he said.
He said legally the state's case was strongly in its favour and hoped that it would get its due share of water.
Taking a dig at opposition party in Haryana, the Chief Minister said that during the INLD-BJP rule, all departments of the state government had spent only Rs 245.80 crore on development works in Mahendragarh direct, whereas his government has spent Rs 1,878.66 crore.
The Chief Minister dedicated to the people of the area many projects involving a total investment of Rs 31 crore by laying foundation stones of some of them and inaugurating some others. These projects included a new block of mini- secretariat and primary health centres.
