'Indian professionals welcome to work in Germany'

"Germany is opening its doors to qualified young people from India who are welcome to take up jobs in information technology, engineering and medicine," he told reporters here.

Siebert is in the city in connection with the Indo-German Urban Mela beginning here tomorrow to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

He said the ten-day long event would showcase pavilions incorporating the best of German and Indian innovation.

"Our urban mela is the interactive and colourful highlight of our year-long programme. We are proud to present it in Pune, a city known for its long standing ties with Germany," Siebert said.
