"A Committee has surveyed the building (damaged Legislature complex) --They have submitted the interim report (to the government)," Chief Minister Omar Abdullah told reporters here today.
Omar was replying to a volley of questions on the location of next budget session in view of collapse of the part of the Legislative complex on the night of December 10.
Omar, who inaugurated a mega health checkup camp at Jammu University's Zorawar Singh auditorium, said, "we will examine the report and will arrive at the conclusion where to hold the session (Next Budget session)".
The chief minister said "if it is not felt suitable for (conducting the session in) existing complex, alternate arrangements would be done".
The historic Legislative Assembly building suffered damages on late night of December 10. A part of the building has been fallen.
Omar directed the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to expedite the work on over Rs 100 crore new Assembly complex being constructed near the existing legislature building here.
The state government has ordered constitution of three-member panel to investigate the reasons behind the collapse of the portion of Assembly building.
