Out of the nine students, five have taken admission in Satyanarayan Industrial Training Centre at Boinda and four in Narayan Institute of Industrial Technology, Kishorenagar for ITI training during 2012-14, company sources said.
Five of the selected students were from Baija and two from Dhaurapalli and Karmaikata.
JR Power Gen has suported more than 25 students in the last two years for ITI training.
As a part of its Social Corporate Responsibility, the company has also been taking up healthcare activities like better medical facility for critical patients, participating in festivals, supporting sports activities, constructing and repairing village wells, hand pump platforms and providing street lights, the sources said.
The company was also associated with electrification of villages roads in association with government agencies.
J R Power has also decided to take up infrastructure development activities in education, healthcare and social sectors, they said.
It has signed an MoU with the Odisha government for setting up a 1980 MW super critical thermal power plant at an investment of over Rs 11,000 crore in Kishorenagar tehsil of Angul district.
