The day started with some opposition members bringing paddy saplings to the House saying that they were grown by farmers on land the government acquired to set up an educational hub at Nagri, about 20 km from here.
CPI (ML-Liberation) Vinod Kumar Singh, Jharkhand Janadhikar Manch MLA Bandhu Tirkey and other legislators demanded that the government should return the 227 acre agriculture land after this season's bumper paddy crop.
Jharkhand Vikas Morcha MLAs continued to shout slogans demanding the government's intervention in the 2006 agreement between Panem Coal Mines Limited and Raj Mahal Bachao Samiti.
As the din continued despite repeated requests by the Chair, Speaker C P Singh adjourned the House for about an hour till noon.
