The 39-year-old said the decision has come after considering the outcome of the recent 3D films at the box office.
"'Joker' will release in 2D format. Its a decision taken by business heads based on the reactions to recent 2D and 3D films of big superstars. Creatively, I Love 3D. Business, I don't understand," Kunder posted on Twitter.
The sci-fi film, which is the second directorial venture of Kunder after "Jaan-E-Mann", stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles.
The film is slated for a September 14 release.
