"Since the elections to the Karnataka Assembly are due in April or May, it is not morally and constitutionally right for the Government to present a budget," he told reporters here, adding, it would be the duty of the newly elected government, whichever the party, to do so.

As the incumbent government would not be able to fulfil the budget proposals, the budget presentation would result in misleading the people, he claimed.

Asked whether Congress party would seek a division on the finance bill, if presented, Khan said it would be better for the State government to seek a vote on account.

To repeated queries on division, Khan said "we may seek a division on the bill. There is all options."
